Scope Tier System

Scope-based pricing for finish services.

The tiers below provide general planning ranges for trim, transition, millwork, and detailed finish projects. They are designed to help homeowners understand the potential investment before a project-specific review.

Each range generally reflects Dustgate™ Containment System preparation and protection, professional installation labor, standard fastening and installation supplies, basic preparation, and final cleanup. Trim, molding, lumber, millwork, paint, stain, hardware, and specialty finish materials are purchased separately unless specifically included in the written proposal.

Final pricing may change based on measurements, material selection, trim profile, existing conditions, access, demolition, layout complexity, painting requirements, transition details, and overall project scope.

Tier 1

Simple Finish Work

TYPICAL PLANNING RANGE: $750–$1,500
Best for: Small or straightforward finish updates with limited complexity.
Examples:
  • Baseboards
  • Simple transitions
  • Small trim details
  • Minor finish corrections

Clean, straightforward finish work that improves the look of the space without a larger scope.

Tier 2

Standard Finish Work

TYPICAL PLANNING RANGE: $1,500–$3,000
Best for: Medium-scope projects with more detail, transitions, or material coordination.
Examples:
  • Multiple transitions
  • Taller baseboards
  • Door or window casing
  • Cabinet or edge details

A more involved level of finish work with stronger visual impact and better coordination between surfaces.

Tier 3

Enhanced Finish Work

TYPICAL PLANNING RANGE: $3,000–$5,500
Best for: Projects with multiple details, materials, or integrated finish elements.
Examples:
  • Complex transitions
  • Millwork or built-in details
  • Floor tie-ins
  • Mixed material areas

A higher level of finish detail that requires more time, layout planning, and precise integration.

Tier 4

Signature Finish Work

CUSTOM PROJECTS START AT: $5,500
Best for: Custom, high-detail projects with multiple materials and architectural detail.
Examples:
  • Custom millwork
  • High-end trim packages
  • Specialty transitions
  • Integrated finish systems

Custom-level finish work with advanced detail, coordination, and craftsmanship.

These ranges are general planning guides intended to help homeowners understand the potential investment while preparing for a project. They are not estimates, quotes, or guaranteed prices.

Finish-service pricing can vary significantly based on measurements, material selection, trim profile, demolition, existing conditions, wall and floor irregularities, access, layout complexity, painting or staining requirements, and the number of coordinated details. Final pricing is provided after CBC reviews the project photos, measurements, selected materials, existing conditions, and complete scope.

Unless specifically included in the written proposal, trim, molding, lumber, millwork, paint, stain, hardware, cabinetry components, and specialty finish materials are purchased separately.

The finish direction shapes the final result.

Finish details are affected by material selection, surface conditions, trim profiles, transition requirements, and how the surrounding room is already built. CBC reviews the details before recommending the right approach.

What can change the final finish price?

Size of the area
Materials and finishes selected
Complexity of the details
Number of transitions
Existing condition
Access and site protection
Adjacent trades or coordination
Custom millwork or built-ins
Surface prep requirements
Repairs or corrections
Timeline and scheduling

CBC uses scope-based pricing because finish details vary greatly. The final estimate should reflect the actual conditions, materials, and level of detail.
